(Re)Load the Enthusiasm
by Dürdane Aslı Kara
Background:
People, who attend to private language courses and to the prep classes at university, usually start to learn foreign languages with enthusiasm. However, after a short time period, when the assignments appear or because of other priorities, they lose their interest. This technique is a toll for people to make choices with a clear mind and establishes the goals in a good structure. Mainly the structure of the tool designed to use with prep students of English Language Teaching Department but it can be also used with other students to form structured objectives.
Phases:
1. Reporting: creating a whole body match with the client. Breathing, mood, tone of voice, facial expressions repeating phrases as the client said before are important in this stage. Let the pacing lead working.
2. Defining the values: In this phase we ask our client what his/her values are and list them in a prioritized way. There should be 10-12 values in the list regarding to passing exams.
3. Formation of a positive objective. After the selection of top important values for this goal, we go on with the next phase knowing that the values that are selected are in the core of the picture. "With the result of the hierarchy of values how can this help you reach your goal to pass the exams?” can be an opening question to start formulation. The formulation should be in a positive way.
4. Imagery of the achieved objective: “Imagine for a second, you get what you want. How is it? What do you see in that moment?” can be the opening of this part. When the client creates a detailed image (VAKOG is used here), we ask “How do you feel?” and anchor the positive feelings. (kind of creating an imprint for your nervous system) In this state, eco-check is important. “How does achieving this goal get you benefits? What is this for you?” Also, eco-check of environment is used here. “How your environment will benefit from your achievement? How your achievement will affect your environment?” We are doing eco-check for environment to find more support.
5. Limit of the achievement. Check if, let’s say 75% of achievement on the issue is good enough for the client and what proportion of achievement fulfil his/her needs.
6. Composing a skills bucket for achievement of this goal: “What do you need to make this achievement picture to come true? What resources that you need?” In this phase, we are collecting the skills that are already existıng. Then, the client will lıst the skills which will help him/her to achieve the goal. We go through all angles and create a summary. When we get the final design, we can say to the client to go for it or let it go. This will show us, if it is the real goal of our client or not, because if the goal that he/she wants to achieve is not fit the idea of himself/herself, this person will not be happy in the process of reaching that goal. If this happens, go back do more of number 3 and continue forward with next steps.
7. Let’s see the future: Lead your client to create a detailed action plan to achieve this goal and to put it on their time line.

Future planning
by Katerina Martínková
AIM
The technique is useful in the situations when people have many options in front of them and they are having troubles deciding where they want to go (for example career decisions). It gives them an opportunity to explore each of the choices and see to which one they are the most attracted to.
PROCESS
1. Establish rapport with the client, ask what is the decision he is making about. Let the client explore what are the options he/she is making decision about. Ask them to name out 3 -5 main directions that they see for themselves at the moment 1. Allow the client to select a starting position, representing the present moment.
2. The client places the future options in the space as floor anchors.
3. The client steps into the first one and explores through VAKOG how is it there (How do you feel? What do you see? What do you hear?). He/she creates a symbol that represents this option for him/her.
4. Going back to the present.
5. Stepping into the next option, exploring it, creating a symbol, going back to the present.
6. The steps are repeated until the client went through all the options.
7. Last step is in a meta position, that allows the client to see the situation from a dissociated perspective.
8. When having explored all the options and collecting the symbols, the client goes back to the initial position and check what has changed. How does it feel? What has changed? (eco-check). The coach tells the client that now, when he explored the options and brought back the symbols from each of them, no matter what he chooses at the end, he will have this experience and all the symbols with him in the future.
9. Final check (future pace): What is the client the most attracted to now, when he/she explored all the options? Where does he want to go?

Decision Constellations
by Madlen Stanislavova Nenkova
Case: inability to take decision; hard time taking decision.
Helps to:
4 stages:
4 main tools:
Helps to:
- to make a decision,
- put a goal and define steps,
4 stages:
- Eliciting of strategy from a previous similar past experience
- Visual squash
- Walt Disney
- Well Formed Objective
4 main tools:
- Timeline
- Rapport
- Milton language
- VAKOG
Stage #1 Eliciting of strategy
1. Identifying a previous similar dilemma in the past
Can you recall a time when you had to take a similar decision? When was it? – put yourself on the timeline. What do you see, hear, and do?
2. Identifying the steps
What were the steps towards that decision? – write them down (white board/ flipchart/ piece of paper)
3. Identifying the outcome
What was the outcome of those steps? How did you feel about the outcome?
4. Check the strategy If you could change something in the steps you did what would you change? – write it down
Stage #2 now put yourself in the present moment – visual squash
1. Identify the conflict and the parts involved
2. Make a visual image of each part and pace one part in each hand
3. Separate the intention from the behavior, finding the same
4. Finding the positive intention in each other
5. Consensus
6. A metamorphosis with transition from each part to the other
7. Future pace
Stage #3 Walt Disney - Now that you have your goal:
1. Dreamer (Visual) – What do you see?
2. Realist (Kinesthetic) – What would you do? (actions randomly thrown)
3. Critic (Auditive) – What is your opinion? What is your message?
4. Meta place
5. Dreamer
6. Realistic → exit → well formed objective from step #2
Stage #4 Well formed objective
1. <strike> Composing a positive objective </strike>
2. Definition of the achieved objective physiology
3. Own eco check
4. Eco check of the environment
5. Test of the consequences of partial outcomes
6. Collecting the competences supporting the objective
7. Steps towards the objective – use the strategy we already mapped in stage #1 – write them down

3. Identifying the outcome
What was the outcome of those steps? How did you feel about the outcome?
4. Check the strategy If you could change something in the steps you did what would you change? – write it down
- In this case how do you know you have succeeded?
- What lets you know you have not yet succeeded?
Stage #2 now put yourself in the present moment – visual squash
1. Identify the conflict and the parts involved

How do you feel now regarding your decision right now?
Weapon of Choice
by Marianthi Zampou
Listen to the sound of my voice
You can check it on out, it's the weapon of choice yeah
Come forward and get your teeth smoked, word
You can blow wit’ this or you can blow wit’that
INTRODUCTION/OBJECTIVES
The title and the main inspirational idea of this particular technique stem from the omonymous song “weapon of choice” by the multifaceted dj/artist FatboySlim. The music video features actor Christopher Walken dancing around deserted hotel lobby. In the search of finding possible ways for myself to come up with a well-formed, concrete decision, be more decisive generally and more capable of simply making choices, my ambition was to combine the genuine therapeutic effects of motion and sound with the basic principles of NLP. It can be considered an amalgamation of new behavior generator, well-formed objectives, logical levels, key parameters of modeling. Milton language, meta-programs and experimenting with association and dissociation is required.
Therefore the main objective is to inspire, encourage the client(s) to take the next step and choose what they desire to do fearlessly by visualizing it in a kinesthetic way of expression deriving from their own body,so they can associate naturally to it. This would be done via a thorough investigation and activation of all the 5 senses step by step, beginning with the submodalities and continuing with movement in space accompanied with audio-anchors.
Finally the technique is designed especially for people who are fond of physical movement, dancing, theater, performing or any kind of movement and it could be used as a tool to overcome overthinking, indecisiveness and fear of improvising, creating something new , doing “prima vista” and exposing themselves in the sight of an audience. Or even coping with stress or even panic attack upon stage.
Of course, alternations can be made to apply the technique to any person, eliminating the expertised choreo-part and replacing it with certain body postures or positions instead of a flowing choreo. Being flexible is essential to implement it in any occasion.
Indicative tools: musical instruments, a stereo, a spacious room (staircases included in the space would be desirable to elevate through the logical levels), big windows.
It can be done in an individual or a group level.
OVERVIEW/PROCEDURE
1. Think of a choice you strive to do (and somehow you don’t ) Describe it without content through the VAKOG. Locate it in the body.
2. In this step a kind of logical levels guided meditation is incorporated. Go through the list of logical levels, have them remember where they put their choice and with background music (either the song weapon of choice itself or whichever song suits the profile of the client). Instead of merely stepping to the levels and thinking for themselves in silence what is the meaning of each step they take, they make a small movement in each level that they believe it represents best their notion of the environment, behavior, and so on, kinesthetically. As soon as they start to move the music plays as a background. Let them explore. Here is the key of the technique, through using Milton language you support them unconsciously in their selfdiscovery process. What do they need, what could it be meaning to have this kind of environment, beliefs, etc.
It is important that enough time and space is provided to explore and design a creative, meaningful route. When they reach the level of the desired choice make them form a symbol and anchor it auditively. For instance: Take the word of the symbol, separate the syllables and create a small melody (e.g but-ter-fly). As soon as they start to move the music plays as a background. Let them explore.
Basically this step aims to support the client to collect resources in a form of a small choreo-improvisation in an experiential and representational senseful (zinvol ;)) way. Main element of the rapport here is the loop of pacing–leading, ending up moving with the client in his/her own journey.
3. Rewind. The reverse process of logical levels takes place and actually we can also press the rewind button to our stereo to make it even more vivid. After it’s done, let them look through the route, the journey they just performed. Repeat to them the melody of their symbol, to anchor it once again, as they are being on trance.
4. When the little journey is over, ask what is your choice NOW. Where in body do you place it. If need, create a new symbol for it verbally. Again we anchor the symbol with a sound/ melody. Optionally we put on the music again and invite them to explore moving starting by the body part that they finally chose. (Imagine as if for instance the shoulders is the trigger of any movement and create a flow movement which expands through the body.)
5. Eco-check: Make sure that the choice is formulated holistically, that the client is satisfied with his-her symbol and let him-her close the eyes and think of what they just did, created. Now it’s the time to modify what they perhaps don’t like. Ask for example is this your choice? Do you want to improve anything, change the symbol or whichever movement to your puzzle of movements?
6. Future pace: What it feels like when you will have made the choice in the future…to possess the Weapon of Choice . The goal and the primordial need here is to imagine that you have just acquired a weapon armed with your resources , it became yours, and you can fire it anytime you wish, as long as you…choose to do so!
Additional Notes (to satisfy curiosity): here you can find the music video and here is the lyrics.
